Wrongful Death After Head-On Collision in Westlake Village

On the morning of April 1, one driver lost control of his vehicle which resulted in a head-on collision in Westlake Village. The location of the crash was Lindero Canyon Road, slightly north of Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

WHAT CAUSED THE WRONGFUL DEATH ACCIDENT

Authorities noted that the driver lost control of his car because of an unspecified medical issue. According to the TO Acorn, the driver who lost control of the vehicle was described to be a man in his early to mid 70s. He was heading northbound in a black Lexus RX 350 SUV at the time of the accident. He was on Lindero’s left lane when he lost control of his vehicle due to a medical emergency.

Once the Lexus passed Janlor Drive, the driver drifted toward the center median and into oncoming traffic. Then, the Lexus crashed into a 2023 Toyota Camry. The Toyota was heading south on Lindero.

Tragically, the driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. It is currently unknown whether the cause of death was the impact of the head-on collision or the medical issue that the driver was dealing with.

Two people were sitting in the Toyota at the time of the collision. The driver of the vehicle was female and her husband was sitting in the passenger seat. Additionally, the husband was sent to the Los Robles Regional Medical Center for his injuries.

Pending notification of the next of kin, the name of the Lexus driver was withheld from public knowledge.

The fatal auto accident on April 1 caused Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village to be shut down for several hours. This was east of Thousand Oaks.
