A suspected DUI driver crashed into multiple parked cars in Pacific Palisades on April 8. Vehicles were sent flying into pedestrians walking along the beach. One young mother was killed and two other people were hospitalized after the fatal DUI accident.

A 21-year-old man was heading south on Pacific Coast Highway near Sunset Boulevard around 12:45 a.m. He was suspected to be driving under the influence at this time. According to KTLA, the at-fault driver collided with three parked cars which were located on the shoulder next to the road.
Furthermore, two of the three parked cars fell onto the rocks below. The three victims of the fatal DUI accident were located down with those rocks. In fact, they were visiting the area to enjoy the view of the ocean while under the moonlight.

The Los Angeles Police Department noted that the victim killed in this accident was a 33-year-old mother of two.
Two others were hospitalized as a result of the drunk driver’s actions. They were identified as the 33-year-old mother’s teenage son and her best friend. Likewise, the best friend was said to be in her 30s.
A witness who remembers the deadly crash explained, “I was sitting in my car and I heard tire screeches.” James Gallardo was the witness explaining the scene. He continued, “It sounded like a car hit another car, so I ran out here to see what happened and I saw this.” In addition, Gallardo called the authorities for help.
The young mother of two was killed immediately upon impact. Authorities tragically pronounced her dead at the scene. Loved ones said that the woman who survived suffered severe back injuries and a broken wrist. Also, the condition of the teenage son remains unknown.
During the evening of April 8, friends and family of the victims visited the fatal DUI site. They looked for any personal items that might have been left at the scene.

Evidently there is a video of the suspected DUI driver being handcuffed and arrested after he was given a field sobriety test.
Locals of the Pacific Palisades area were stunned by the news of the fatal accident.
One local resident explained that the area has “a lot of tourists who come around here, checking stuff out up and down PCH.” When describing his feelings about the incident he said, “That’s just awful to hear.”
