Teenager Wrongfully Killed After Two-Car Crash in Victorville

Around 10 p.m. on February 26, a 19-year-old teenager from Victorville was wrongfully killed after his vehicle lost control and collided into another car on Hesperia Road. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies at the Victorville station were dispatched that Saturday night for the accident near Hesperia Road and Ottawa Street. Authorities found 19-year-old Abraham Hinojosa-Mercado dead at the scene.

WHY WAS THE TEENAGER WRONGFULLY KILLED?

According to KTLA, Abraham was the driver of a silver Nissan Sentra at the time of the accident. He was driving northbound on Hesperia Road when he lost control of his car. This was slightly past the intersection with Ottawa Street.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash remained on the scene and fully cooperated with the investigators. The other driver was 32-year-old Jose Gonzalez who is a resident of Victorville. Moreover, he was driving a white Nissan Altima at the time of the accident.

According to VVNG, deputies investigated the scene for many hours. In fact, this caused the north and southbound lanes of Hesperia Road between Green Tree Boulevard and Nisqualli Road to be closed for a significant period of time. However, both lanes were reopened on the following day.
