One Infant Injured and One Wrongful Death After Fatal Collision

Around 7 p.m. on February 26, a fatal auto accident killed one person and left three others injured in North Hollywood. In addition, a 10-month-old infant was one of those that were injured in the crash. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene just after 7 p.m. in North Hollywood, located specifically at 11482 West Magnolia Boulevard.

The violent two-car crash caused one of the vehicles to overturn and two victims to be trapped inside the wreckage.

According to KTLA, the Los Angeles Police Department revealed the scene of the accident. A female driver was traveling northbound on the 170 Freeway in a gray sedan. She exited at Magnolia Boulevard and ran a red light. She then struck a dark colored Honda CRV. This Honda was carrything three people, which included a 10-month-old infant.

LAPD Detective Lisset Fuentes said that the force of the collision is what caused the Honda to overturn.

A 35-year old woman and a 40-year-old man were trapped under the Honda. Authorities said that crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department were working to free them both from the wreckage.

It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the car crash.

As investigators gathered evidence in the area, traffic near the scene of the accident was impacted.

The female driver who ran the red light in the gray sedan was taken to the hospital after the accident occurred. Additionally, she is expected to survive.

It was confirmed that the male passenger in the Honda was wrongfully killed as a result of the accident. It is unknown whether he died at the scene or if he died at the hospital from his injuries.

The woman in the Honda was immediately taken to the hospital after the accident. She was reported to be in critical condition.

In fact, the infant injured was not trapped under the vehicle. The infant was pulled out and taken to the hospital in stable condition. Above all, the infant is expected to survive the injuries that were sustained.
