Man Critically Injured After Single-Vehicle Crash In Ventura

On the morning of Saturday, January 28th, a man was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash in Ventura. The crash occurred on Telephone Road around 11:40 a.m. near the intersection with Lark Avenue, near the Ventura County Government Center.

According to the TO Acorn, the driver needed to be pulled out of the severely damaged vehicle by firefighters. Fortunately, the Ventura Fire Department personnel responded within minutes.

They found the injured driver trapped in the wreckage. Fire officials said that they pulled the victim out of the vehicle by performing an “extensive extrication” option.

Ventura Police Department Commander Mike Brown explained that the driver was in critical condition so he was transported to Ventura County Medical Center by an ambulance.

Witnesses of the accident told police that the driver was traveling at very high speeds. Moreover, Commander Brown said that the driver ran a red light and clipped a light pole.

The driver’s age and location of residence were unknown when officials arrived at the scene.

It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were in the driver’s system at the time of the accident.

Officials stated that the male driver had no passengers in his car, as he was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash. No pedestrians were hit or injured as a result of the crash.

The fire department released photos that showed the wreckage of the vehicle. The pictures of the totaled vehicle were located near a sidewalk by a lawn outside of Grace Lutheran Church.
